Beta Structure Prediction

Post by McPearso »

I am a graduate student at Purdue University. I recently submitted a sequence to your I-TASSER server. I got some conflicting results that I would like clarified, particularly about the highest-ranking structure prediction (see attached). The model to the left seems to suggest that our molecule of interest has some beta-helix prediction, however, the graph to the right suggests there's no beta-sheet. Would you happen to know why this is? Thank you for your time.

The helix and strand shown in right is predicted results, there is no guarantee that they are 100% correct. Furthermore, the predicted helix and strand are very short, I am not sure those are reasonable results. I-TASSER used a more comprehensive force field fold protein, thus the model secondary structure may not appears exactly the same as the predicted secondary structure from sequence. If you want to know more about I-TASSER, you can check this paper. https://zhanglab.dcmb.med.umich.edu/papers/2021_10.pdf
